When the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour set out to create the College Prep Series, it intended to provide players with the competitive atmosphere that is often seen at the college level of competitive golf. This tournament and golf course will certainly provide this setting to participants. The course itself is set inside the North Carolina State University campus, giving a collegiate feel to the venue simply by its placement. The course, which is home to both of NC State’s men’s and women’s varsity golf teams, was designed by Arnold Palmer along with the expert design team at Arnold Palmer Design Company. Palmer and his team have come up with a truly great golf course at NC State that is fit for all skill levels, but will provide many challenges to the competitors. Not only is the Lonnie Poole Golf Course designed by Arnold Palmer, but it is also the research and teaching facility for the Professional Golf Management and Turf Management programs at NC State. Being that this facility is used as a teaching element for the programs just listed, the golf course should be in nothing less than pristine condition. The Lonnie Poole Golf Course has a wide range of tee lengths to create a large number of possibilities, with the longest playing at 7358 yards. This venue is the perfect place to host a College Prep Series event and will make a great stage, for what is sure to be some exciting competition.
