Bradenton, FL (Oct. 27-28)-The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will be traveling to Bradenton, FL to host the Southwest Florida Jr. Open at The Preserve Golf Club. Up for grabs in this tournament is are 4 AJGA Performance Stars for the winners of the Boys 15-18 and Girls 15-18 Divisions. Ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS) and Golfweek, winners also receive an automatic bid in to the HJGT Tour Championship at the end of the year.
The Southwest Florida Jr. Open is a stroke play format tournament being held over two days. Each day players will play eighteen (18) holes of golf each day, to make for a thirty-six (36) hole tournament in total. There will be four separate divisions for competition. Players will be put in divisions based on age and the divisions will be as follows: Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 11-14, and Girls 11-14.
The Preserve Golf Club features a Ted McAnlis signature championship golf course with Champion Ultra Dwarf Greens, the same greens surface used at the #1 ranked course in the state of Florida Seminole Golf Club and at the Atlanta Athletic Club and the home of the 2011 PGA Championship. The golf course winds through the natural and lush Florida wetland settings.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the southeast, with stops in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
