The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is proud to be sponsored by Bobby Grace Putters. Throughout the year players are afforded the opportunity to win a free putter by becoming the Player of the Month. One player in each division will be chosen to receive this prestigious award. Winners will take home a brand new Bobby Grace Putter and head cover. Each putter is customized with the official logo of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Players who receive this prize can be assured that they are taking home one of the best putters used in golf today.

This month, in the Boys 15-18 Division, the player of the month is Rigel Fernandes. Fernandes played exceptionally well this weekend at the IMG Academies Junior Open in Bradenton, Fl. Fernandes came back from a one stroke deficit on Sunday to win in a two hole playoff. Fernandes birdied hole 11 at the IMG Golf and Country Club to win this weekend. Fernandes leads the field in several categories. He has the most eagles out the whole division with one. He also has the most pars or better with a percentage of 86.1. These statistics and strong play are the factors that led Fernandes to becoming this month’s Bobby Grace Putter Player of the Month.

In the Girls 15-18 Division Reona Hirai is the Bobby Grace Putter Player of the Month. Reona set an HJGT record of the lowest score in a round with an impressive 66. Reona shot well with a total of 6 birdies in the Hilton Head Jr. Classic. On top of shooting a 66, Hirai also led the field in the best Par 4 Performance with an average of 3.91. Hirai’s record setting score makes her well deserving of the Bobby Grace Putter Player of the Month reward.

The Boys 11-14 Division winner is Martin Jaramillo. Jaramillo won the boys division at the IMG Academies Jr. Open in Bradenton, Fl. Jaramillo took first place posting a two day total score of (72+75=149). Jaramillo also had the most birdies with a total of eight and the best averages in par 4 (4.25) and par 5 performances (4.50).

For the Girls 11-14 Division, Vanessa Yan of Bradenton, Fl, takes home this month’s Bobby Grace Putter award. Vanessa led the field this weekend with the best par 3 performance average (2.50). . Yan led many categories throughout the IMG Jr. Open including most pars, best par 5 performance, and best par 3 performance. Vanessa is characterized by her strong play and tenacity to win in tournaments.
